INHERIT – SUSTAINABLE TOURISM STRATEGIES TO CONSERVE AND VALORISE THE MEDITERRANEAN AND COASTAL NATURAL HERITAGE
INHERIT aims to protect natural heritage in Mediterranean coastal and maritime tourist destinations by promoting sustainable tourism practices. The project focuses on mitigating the negative impacts of intensive tourism through a “bottom-up” approach involving local stakeholders in self-regulation and monitoring. By implementing pilot protection sites and thematic tourism routes, it develops scalable strategies that balance tourism development with the conservation of natural heritage.
